The Team: PTI Inspection Division

This position is as a team member of PTI’s Inspection Division, which is responsible for designing and developing the most sophisticated non-destructive container closure system inspection technologies in the world.

The Role: Buyer:

PTI is looking for a Buyer who will process in a timely manner purchase order requisitions for all divisions of the company, ensuring delivery, cost and quality are accurate. The Buyer will be responsible for creating purchase order tracking systems, alerting management when orders have been filled, answering vendor questions, and providing them with additional order documentation as needed. The successful candidate for this position will have experience in the manufacturing industry and a strong understanding of supply chain management concepts. This is a support function to the entire company and will be responsible for 100% accurate, 100% on time and 100% complete delivery or items/services purchased

Responsibilities & Duties:

1. Develop an efficient and accurate system for monitoring all open purchase orders
2. Maintain a weekly purchase order report
3. Work with the operations team to efficiently manage inventory, ensure that all deliveries satisfy the assigned purchase orders and report any back-ordered or missing products
4. Assist the operations team with maintaining proper inventory levels of materials used on a regular basis
5. Actively update vendor database
6. Assist Shipping/Receiving department with their daily activities where needed
7. Be a contributing member in improving sourcing strategies
8. Issue RFQ’s and compare supplier quotes for commercially available items

Qualifications & Skills:

1. Associates Degree in Accounting or a related field required
2. Strong negotiating skills
3. Comprehensive understanding of MS Excel, MS Word and industry standard purchase order software platforms
4. Excellent communication skills specifically with email programs such as Outlook
5. Excellent organizational skills
6. Basic knowledge of working with ERP systems such as Quickbooks
7. Detail oriented
8. Ability to work well with cross-functional teams
