The Manufacturing Accountant plays a crucial role in the financial operations of the manufacturing department. This position requires a solid understanding of accounting principles, familiarity with ERP systems, and effective communication skills to collaborate with the sales, operations, and the office of the controller. The Manufacturing Accountant is responsible managing ERP-related project transactions, and ensuring accurate financial reporting.
As a Manufacturing Accountant you will be expected to complete gross margin analyses of products and revenue streams, prepare weekly, monthly and quarterly reports, support month and year end close, inventory management as well as AP & AR responsibilities.
Manufacturing Accountant Role Description
- 1. Be the primary resource for all ERP related solutions and concerns.
- 2. Ensure company operates within ERP system with precision and accuracy.
- 3. Work closely with the operations department to track project costs and expenses.
- 4. Prepare regular financial reports related to manufacturing projects.
- 5. Execute on monthly R&D cost compilation and closeout for P&L.
- 6. Assist in the preparation of month-end and year-end financial statements.
- 7. Establish and maintain effective communication channels with the sales and operations departments.
- 8. Provide financial insights to support decision-making in sales and operations.
- 9. Provide input on developing standards and procedures related to project matters.
Skills and Qualifications
- 3-5 Years Experience in Accounting operating via GAAP
- Familiarity with a manufacturing environment as it relates to inventory, BOM’s, routers, job costing and cost tracking
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in financial field
- Proficiency using Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, Teams)
- Excellent communicator both verbally and written
- Highly detail oriented
