ASTM F2338

ASTM F2338 is a recognized standard test method for non-destructive detection of leaks in packages using Vacuum Decay technology . It is widely applied in pharmaceutical and medical device packaging.

The method involves placing a package in a sealed test chamber, applying vacuum, and monitoring pressure changes over a defined period. If a leak exists, gas will escape from the package into the chamber, producing a measurable pressure rise. The system quantifies this change using highly sensitive sensors.
